What I Believe
My philosophy of optimum health is very simple: The body can heal itself. It can do so because it has a healing system. If you are in good health, you will want to know about this system, because it is what keeps you in good health and you can enhance that condition. If you or people you love are sick, you will want to know about this system, because it is the best hope for recovery.
I define optimum health, also know as wellness, not as the absence of disease, illness, or stress, but the presence of purpose in life, active involvement in satisfying work and play, joyful relationships, a healthy body and living environment, and happiness.” Wellness incorporates eight dimensions: emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual.
I work with clients on a variety of levels. People are experiencing life on a multitude of levels and often become out of balance in one area or another. These imbalances can lead to serious challenges in one’s life, as well as in their relationships with others. This can ultimately lead a person into major obstacles in pursuit of their personal and professional goals. Life coaching is a valid, effective, and productive method to resolve issues, clarify our path and purpose, and achieve our chosen goals. My approach is integrative in that it takes account the whole person, including all eight dimensions of their wellness. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship between the practitioner and client, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate options. This gives me the needed information and tools to create a balanced and appropriate plan of action for maximizing a holistic lifestyle for my clients. I neither reject conventional methods nor accept alternative therapies uncritically. Instead, I have been taught that good solutions are based on good science; they are inquiry-driven. I am open to new modalities. Effective solutions that are natural, less invasive, and more cost-effective should be used whenever possible. Alongside the concepts creating a balanced and appropriate plan of action for optimizing peoples’ health, I believe the broader concepts of health promotion and the prevention of illness are paramount.
In summary, As a Certified Holistic Life Coach, I want to help people heal. I want people to lead happier and healthier lives. I want to teach them that there is a better solution than taking “pills for ills” to fix their problems. I want your positive energy to flow into your community.
